This button is a preset light-sensitive button used for functions other than turning on/off the device so it is not a device malfunction.

Yes, once powered on, the device will automatically start recording videos which will be overwritten when TF card memory becomes full. If you need to save all the videos, please pay attention to the memory of the TF card in time to avoid data loss.
