I love my gadgets - this it NOT a gadget. I previoulsy had a 2 camera system installed on my Yamaha FZ1S Gen 2 (best bike on the planet :-) ) with a screen mounted on my handles bars via RAM mounts, I wanted them for continual recording from and rear, also to use the rear as a rear view mirror, worked great. My previous unit had the option of USB power or wired. I do not know how to use a multi meter, it is all witchcraft to me !! Fast forward a few months ago and I was flicking away on Amazon and the Spedal CL876 popped up - WOW !!! I knew I had to have it, bought it, next day delivery. When you open the box you know it is well made by the sheer look of it !! I knew it was only a wired fitting so popped along to my local garage, asked them to find me an ignition live, 2 mins later they located one under my pillion seat near the battery. I have many cable connectors, 5 mins later I had the unit wired into the ignition live, connected the cables and then fired it up - WOW - then a simple connection via bluetooth to my phone and Cardo Edge headset to the unit, IMPORTANT - mobile needs to be connected to the Spedal AND rthe headset needs to be connected to the Spedal - this is the only way to get audio to your headset no matter what brand.
Then I connected the front and rear cams, I used Mitre Bond glue and spray, superb waterproof fitting as I dont use the 3M sticky pads supplied and I am not drilling into my fairings. Adjusted the cameras for front and rear, superb quality. Oh yeah, before that make sure you install the MSD first underneath the unit and put the rubber gasket back in.
Connected the Android auto play, selected my apps to use, music and maps are superb. Playback of the vidoes are superb, audio from the friont and rear mics are superb.
The bracket supplied is very good, I adapted the retainer screws and fitted a RAM theft proof fitting so its impossible to remove. I have used the unit now quite a few times on long runs, no issues at all. I have been caught in pouring rain, the unit has had a good soaking, no issues at all. What I have done is I purchased a small piece of Neoprene from an auction site and my wife made a cover for me to slip on. This by no meand hides the unit but hides the screen and extra protection for the screen when the bike cover is on. I have parked the bike on main roads, locked the bike up, in full view when having a coffee, lots of peole looking at the bike and not even noticing the extra unit on the handles bars, it looks OEM, similar to GS dash or a KTM, it looks part of the bike !!
Cables are plenty long enough for the power and cameras, too long, then fold up and cable tie to another cable to make it super neat.
I visit quite a few biker cafes in and around London and when people see the unit and find out what it does they are all very impressed. So much so was at Rykas cafe 3 weeks ago, one guy saw the unit, I powered it on and showed hism how it works, he spotted the cameras etc, he went straight onto Amazon and ordered one straight away!!
I use the rear cam on my screen everytime I ride the bike, great on motorways and especially useful to be aware of the delivery scooters that creep up on your inside or outside dangerously until you kick out and they get the message !!
I connected the TPMS fittings but took them off as I knew I would lose the spanner !!
I am seriously thinking of getting another CL876 in case they stop making them in the future and I have a spare in case anything happens !!
I am very very happy with the unit, its looks and features. I would post some pics but it is 10.30pm, and cant be bothered to uncover the bike !!
My navicam has less than a year screen has humidity inside and touching screen didn't works. I write several times to support, and they do anything, even they didn't answer the last mails. Still in warranty period so I want a solution, let's see if they read the reviews because is so disgusting. I can not recommend this product
It came nicely packed. Seems like a decent piece of kit. However it hasn’t been over 10F for over a month and won’t get over 32F for another month or two so I have no way of putting this system to the test. Hopefully when it thaws enough to ride and I can get this thing installed it will work because if it doesn’t it will be outside the warranty period
Not set it up yet so can say how it works but it seem like a quality product and comes very well packaged and considering where it's coming from the delivery was decent enough, only four stars because like I said not set it up and used it yet
This is a great unit and can run split screen with CarPlay and Cameras. I did not like the mount it came with so I created and printed my own and even wired in turn signals. Can see if the video.
